Summertime is the perfect time to try these frozen cocktail recipes.

These frozen cocktails are fun, fruity, and refreshing. These three cocktail recipes are easy to prepare and perfect for summer parties and barbeques.

Frozen Tropical Colada

This cocktail is a frozen blend of tropical flavors. The alcohol is not overwhelming in this frozen cocktail, so it proves to be a refreshing summer drink.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Coconut Rum
  • 1 oz Banana Schnapps
  • 4 oz Banana Puree
  • 1 oz Orange Juice
  • 1 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1 cup Ice
  • Splash Grenadine
  • Whipped Cream, optional
  • Maraschino Cherry, optional

Preparation

Place the ice, coconut rum, banana schnapps, banana puree, orange juice, and pineapple juice in a blender; blend until smooth. If the mixture is still coarse with chunks of ice, add more orange and pineapple juices and continue to blend. Pour a splash of grenadine into the bottom of a hurricane glass. Add the blended cocktail to the hurricane glass. The grenadine will swirl through the tropical colada making a visual appealing cocktail. Top the frozen tropical cocktail with whipped cream and a Maraschino Cherry.

Frozen Strawberry Banana Daiquiri

This is just a simple twist on the classic frozen daiquiri. To make the recipe easier, it calls for daiquiri mix, but fresh strawberries could easily be used in place of the daiquiri mix.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Banana Schnapps
  • 1 oz. Rum
  • 4 oz. Strawberry Daiquiri Mix
  • 1 cup Ice
  • Whipped Cream, optional
  • Fresh Strawberry, optional

Preparation

Place all of the ingredients, except for the whipped cream and fresh strawberry, into a blender. Blend until smooth; pour into a hurricane glass. Top the frozen strawberry banana daiquiri with whipped cream, and cut a small slit into the bottom of the strawberry and then place the strawberry on the rim of the hurricane glass.

Red, White, and Blue Frozen Berries & Cream Cocktail

This frozen cocktail not only oozes with berry and cream flavors typical of summertime desserts, but also is a visual statement of patriotic summer colors. This is a layered cocktail; therefore, the red, white, and blue colors remain clearly visible in the cocktail. This frozen cocktail is perfect for holiday parities, such as Memorial Day or Fourth of July Barbeques.

  • 1 oz. Strawberry Vodka
  • 5 Fresh Strawberries
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • ½ cup Small Ice chips
  • 2 oz. Vanilla Vodka
  • 1 Large Scoop Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 1 oz Heavy Cream
  • 1 oz. Blueberry Schnapps or Blackberry Brandy
  • Whipped Cream, optional

Preparation

In a blender, combine the strawberry vodka, fresh strawberries, lemon juice, and ¼ cup ice. Blend these ingredients; the mixture should resemble a slushy, as it should be coarse and not as smooth as a daiquiri. Pour the mixture into the bottom of a hurricane glass. Thoroughly clean the blender; this is necessary to get the full effect of the layering of colors in this cocktail. Once the blender is clean, combine the remainder of the ice, heavy cream, vanilla vodka, and ice cream. Blend until smooth and creamy. Pour this mixture on top of the strawberry mixture already in the hurricane glass. Some of the colors will blend, but there should still be a clear and visible differentiation between the strawberry and the vanilla cream layers of the drink. To add the blue layer to this frozen cocktail, a technique called floating will be used. Get a regular spoon and hold it upside down over the hurricane glass (so that the bottom of the spoon is facing upward over the hurricane glass). Slowly pour the blueberry or blackberry liquor down over the upside down spoon so it “floats” atop the cocktail. Again, some of the colors will blend together, but the cocktail will still be red, white, and blue. Top with whipped cream, if desired.
